Mini Camps: Single Day + Holiday Break Camps

The typical school year has more than 30 weekdays off between the first and last day of school. Quite often, working parents don't have off those days, and ALL children need a safe and enriching environment to be in when there is no school. Thankfully, Full STEAM Ahead offers Mini Camps on most of those days!

Mini Camps are single day camps with a half or full day option, where students will practice the same great skills they do during our other programs.

We’ve got you covered on those random days off and those long holiday breaks. Come join us for Full STEAM Ahead Mini Camps! Our Mini Camps are chocked full of learning opportunities to keep kids’ brains growing while they have fun, learn important skills, and make new friends.

Full STEAM Ahead Mini Camps are not just convenient for working parents, additionally they are a wonderful opportunity to get some extra STEAM enrichment in. The Mini Camp calendars follow the same schedule as the public school calendar for the county in which they reside. Ft Myers follows the Lee Schools calendar, Naples follows the CCPS calendar.

Early Release Days

Full STEAM Ahead Mini Camps have you covered on early release days and half days as well. Our normal transportation routes will run on an adjusted schedule for CCPS and Lee Schools ERD Mini Camps.

Early release days are broken into 2 sessions, a 12pm – 3pm and a 3pm – 6pm session. Students signed up for our normal after school program are automatically enrolled at no additional cost for our 12-3 ERD Mini Camp, to ensure that all regular After School students have a ride. Parents can add the optional 3-6pm session on the Parent Portal. Additional space will be allotted on a first come first serve basis.

Mini Camp Classes & Activities

Minecraft

Students work collaboratively and creatively through a series of academic-based challenges in the world of Minecraft. Sample projects include building a scale model of the International Space Station and exploring ancient ruins to learn about archaeology. Advanced students even get a chance to work with commands, command blocks, custom resource packs, and redstone.

Animation

With as big an impact as cartoons are on most children (and maybe we’re projecting here), why not teach them how to create their own? Animation is a brilliant combination of art and science that gets children flexing their creative and artistic muscles while thinking and planning strategically. What’s not to love about that!

Robotic and Coding

If the future is run by machines, and those machines are run by people… Among other things, learning to code is an essential skill for today’s kids. Why learn to code while they are still young? Why not build and program robots to complete Moon missions, engage in battle, or save the world? Learn coding and robotics the fun way!

Smart Art

What makes art smart? Combine the creativity and techniques learned in a traditional art class with infusions of science, history, culture, and more. In Smart Art, our students work independently and collaboratively while building confidence, making friends, and developing thinking skills that will last a lifetime.

Science + Engineering

Our Science + Engineering days bring together many of the classic activities like Lego engineering, Knex, and classic building challenges with all kinds of building materials. Additionally, we sprinkle in some science experiments, Kerbal Space Program and other spaceflight physics, and any fun and engaging science activities that we come up with!

Robotic and Coding

3D Printing and Design

3D Printing is about as perfect a STEAM activity as there is. Every lesson involves Art, Technology, Engineering, and very often we get Science, Math, and Music in there too. In fact, we even include history and culture in many 3D Printing lessons! While the kids don't always recognize this fact, they sure are amazed and inspired by the cutting edge technology and creativity they are immersed in.

YouTube Creators

Becoming a famous YouTuber has become the modern equivalent of being a movie star or a famous athlete. However, few kids understand how many skills are needed to be able to accomplish even a basic YouTube channel. In our YouTube Creators class, we teach videography, lighting, idea generation, video editing, sound editing, even marketing--all geared at equipping students with the skills they need to tackle... anything!

Music Tech

Music is a universal language that kids from all backgrounds and ability levels can appreciate. However, there can be kind of a steep learning curve with a lot of music! Our Music Tech class combines two of our favorite things, Music and Technology, to make learning music more accessible and more fun.

A good after school program should do more than just keep your kids safe and entertained. That’s why at Full STEAM Ahead, our after school program does that and much more. Designed by award winning educators, taught by highly-qualified teachers, our Naples After School Program is truly a cut above the rest.

Above all, our programs are designed with the child AND the family in mind. They are convenient for families and their ever rotating schedules. However, we didn’t sacrifice any quality for convenience. Our after school problem is also a place where students can explore new passions, build on existing skill sets, and be surrounded by other creative, motivated students.
