WHAT IS THE FULL STEAM AHEAD AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM?

The Full STEAM Ahead After-School Program gives kids in grades K through 8 hands-on STEAM learning every school day FROM 3:30-6:00. It's not homework help and it's not a waiting room. It's engaging enrichment classes, taught by trained educators, in a space designed for kids to build, create, and discover.

Our rotating curriculum keeps things fresh all year long. Kids cycle through coding, robotics, Minecraft Education, engineering challenges, science experiments, digital art, music technology, 3D design, and more - with new lessons built around the same creative, curious spirit every single week.

We keep our groups intentionally small. Kids get actual instruction, not just supervision. Perseverance, problem solving, idea generation, and self guided learning? They come standard.

WHAT KIDS DO

Every week brings something different. Here's a taste of what kids work on at our Napes location:

Coding in Scratch and other platforms, from storytelling to game design. Minecraft Education for history, science, and creative problem-solving. Robotics and engineering challenges where students build, test, and try again. Hands-on science experiments. Music technology using GarageBand, Chrome Music Lab, and more. Digital art and graphic design. 3D modeling in TinkerCAD with access to our 3D printer. Smart Art, where every project has a STEAM connection built in.

Students also earn STEAM Cents and work toward Challenge Badges throughout the year, building skills and celebrating growth along the way.

TRANSPORTATION

We pick up from partner schools at dismissal time and bring students straight to us. Our van routes run from a network of local elementary and middle schools in the Naples area.

HOW OUR SCHEDULE WORKS

Each day, students are split into two groups by age. While one group is in STEAM class, the other is in Art and then they switch. We alternate which group goes first each week so it stays balanced over time.

Class times run approximately 4:15 to 5:00 and 5:00 to 5:45, though timing shifts slightly depending on when the buses arrive.

Pickup is completely flexible and totally up to your family. Some families stay through both classes and free explore every day. Others pick up when they get off work, wherever their child happens to be in the schedule. Some families come specifically for one class and leave after. All of it works - regardless of where your child is in the rotation and we can have them ready when you arrive.

One thing to keep in mind: while our program opens at 3:30, if the vans are running a few minutes behind due to a lightning alert or a delayed school dismissal, arrival back at Full STEAM Ahead may be slightly later than usual. We appreciate your patience and flexibility on those days.
